We get excited when we have a role model or someone that had success in their line of work or passion: a sports star, an entrepreneur, a leader.
If they have succeeded so can we. They’ve planned the field for us.
However, frustration hits when we find that it seems more challenging for us to get the same level of success by taking their steps.
The Hurdles of the Success Story
That’s what so many people have confessed to me while trying to replicate email marketing and automation best practices. They follow all the guidelines and, sometimes, it’s still hard to get where they want to be.
As in any other success story, there’s a big chunk of serendipity that’s unique to them. There’s no recipe to accomplish the same level of success because it’s almost impossible to mimic an entire existence and network factor.
The same is for email marketing and automation. We need to read the data and react accordingly to make the best use of what our audience is telling us.
Use a success story to show you that’s possible. Just don’t follow them blindly. Your path is your path—nobody else’s.
