Event(s) are being cancelled everywhere due to COVID-19, and some brands are struggling to find alternatives to this Lead Generation channel.
Here are some alternative solutions I would recommend:
1. Massively create content related to the event cancellation
Tackle the moment and if you were to sponsor a specific event that was cancelled, talk about it massively in your channels. Make an article pinpointing why you were sponsoring and what you think it would be beneficial for the attendees to know more about your brand there. Do a video as well if possible.
2. Virtual event opportunity
Make it clear that you understand why it was cancelled and that you support the decision to protect the attendees and people surrounding the area. Maybe you could do a virtual simulation of what your booth was about to make at the event. A virtual chat room and multimedia presentation available.
3. Re-purpose the budget for content marketing
Use that budget to spread relevant content. Before creating content, make a keyword research analysis and content strategy map based on positioning and market fit. Don’t go pitch. Focus on spreading value.
4. Go for a massive virtual event
Consider doing a massive virtual event co-partnering with other brands as well. Show that the world doesn’t stop and that you can still be with like-minded people remotely.
5. Do what you were not doing due to this investment
Reinforce your other channels and invest in what you didn’t due to budget constrictions or human resources, focus.
