That’s why I love doing polls and surveys to understand how the market thinks. Be assured that I don’t believe that this translates the reality of the market per se. Real data is 100% better than polls since it’s based on actual usage.
However, this poll shows what people consider to be the ideal email frequency to reach their audience. As you can see, 44% believe that a weekly newsletter is the best choice, but very closely we have 35% claiming to be the monthly one. Interestingly enough, the medium-term (bi-monthly) got just 19%.
I promised to say what it’s my opinion on email frequency. As in any safe answer, the best is to say, it depends. It really is.
If you’re Seth Godin, you can easily send one daily email, which he does. The same for the Morning Brew, GrowthHackingIdea, etc. Most brands choose to do a weekly newsletter, like sendXmail(s) does with the premium plan (shameless plug). 😁
The point is. It doesn’t matter. What matters is what your audience thinks of the value that you’re sharing. If you provide something that it’s worthwhile, you could send them as much as one email per hour. We do it when it’s Black Friday, and it works.
What I ask you dearly is to avoid sending an email just because it’s your deadline and you haven’t done anything precious. Please, wait a few more days, prepare something extraordinary and then send it. You can thank me later. 😉
